Pump Runs Dry

Those threaded plugs are actually drain plugs to drain the water out of the pump to prevent it from freezing during cold weather.
Fortunately, I will never have to touch them again. My pool does not get near freezing temperatures in Florida. A few years ago, we were the only state that didn't have snow on a certain day, lol. I use the pool on certain days during the winter, also.
From a year or two ago, I remember switching classes in my outdoor high school during December, and it was relatively warm.
