Pump primes...kinda...video link

So the pump i got to vacuum pool had a hard time priming, i had flex hoses attached and the leaks from connections didnt make me happy, but i can fix that. Im used to the pentair 2HP Pump on thd pool being water tight, is this pump an exception?

My guess is the vacuum hose just can't supply enough water to the pump to allow it to fully prime.

Replace your suction side plumbing with a 2" solid pvc pipe (temporarily) and stick the pipe in the pool. If your pump fully primes (and I think it will) then you have a suction leak somewhere in that flex hose.....either a hole in the hose or the fittings that connect it.
