I have been dealing with an issue with air in the leaf vac cannister for a while now. I replaced the o ring and even the lid, as I have a number of times over the years. I could not get the filter to catch prime. I had a repair tech come out and look at it and noticed that when you put the lid on and tighten it, the filter would not prime. However, if you instead press down on the lid, without tightening the lock ring, it would prime. He suggested that there was likely a hairline crack in the canister and when the lock ring was tightened it stressed the crack and prevented priming.
I can't see a crack. If I could I would try Plastic-Aid or similar fix. Has anyone had a similar issue? If so how did you resolve it? Also, any suggestions on how to locate the crack?
