Since we're getting close to average temps around 60F, figured it was time to get the water moving, pH managed and SOME chlorine in the pool. Set aside some time this afternoon to put the baskets, plugs and switches back into working mode and get to testin' and adjustin'. With everything back in place, hit the switch and ...

HUUUUUUUUUUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM.

Huh indeed. Power off, pump basket out, streeeeetch a finger in there. Impeller won't move. Huh again. Off for screwdriver to remove back plastic plate, bottom screw is rusted and not coming out. Huh. Socket wrench gets the motor off aaaaand:

If anybody has any suggestions I'm all ears! TIA!

Gather your pump's close personal friends, pull up "Taps" on your phone, and have the assembled crowd daintily dab their eyes as you process to the recycle bin. Say a few kind words, close the bin, and go order a new pump.

If you can get the bearings loose it might indeed run again. Problem is that the corrosion that seized them, despite now being loose, will now also be crunching and grinding in the bearings.

Basically, it's a vicious circle and eventually it's going to die again, perhaps in the middle of the summer when you least want to deal with it.

If it's worth rebuilding (cosmetically it looks rough, but internals are what matter) that would be your best bet at this point if it's economically viable vs replacement - Depends on the replacement value of the pump. At least this time of year you can take it in for rebuild (if you go that way) without any major concerns about the time involved.
