Pump loses prime after spa runs

Hi ! There was an old thread posted on this topic but I didn’t find a final outcome.

I just had my pool and spa resurfaced and tiled . Now if I run the spa at night ( manual after daily program is finished ) the filter pump won’t start in the am due to losing its prime . If I don’t run the spa at night the filter starts without issue ? The pool company thinks I need a new drive but that doesn’t make sense to me as it runs fine as long as the spa is not run ? Help please!

It sounds like you might have an air leak in one of the suction lines. One way to check is to make sure the pump is primed in pool mode, switch to spa mode and watch the pump basket. How quickly does it fill with air.
