Hi guys, I'm new to this whole pool thing. We bought a QX2100 salt water pump because we can't keep up using chlorine in South Carolina. Ran it for about six months and it keeps reading "high salt". The salt isn't high. I drained much of the pool and refilled with fresh water and it still says "high salt". Now the pump doesn't chlorinate at all and my pool is green!

Is there a way to "reset" my pump or is it junk?

There's a warning light on the pump itself that says "high salt". And because of this it doesn't chlorinate.

The warning light is saying something is wrong with the unit. It could be the salt level or it could be the unit salt measurement is incorrect.

You need to use a salt test kit like the Taylor K-1766 to diagnose what is going on.
Any recommendations on a good salt pump that doesn't break the bank?

When you buy a SWG you are buying a few years worth of chlorine in one payment. You have to be willing to advance the money for the convenience.

How many gallons in your pool?
