Pump HP question for Hayward S200 Sand Filter

A couple sort of related questions. Pics attached.
1. Is it normal for a little sand to get in the sight glass?
2. I have this small bubble in my pump basket when running on 1725RPM. This is not there at full speed. Does it indicate a suction side leak?
