Pump for pool slide

I installed a turbo twister slide at the end of last season. I plumbed the water supply from the return plumbing with a 1 and 1/2 inch line and choke the return valves to get the water supply to the slide. Thinking of installing a second pump that can easily be switched on and off when I’m not around (kids and wife) don’t want to adjust valves. Wondering what size pump would be required to do this. Slide requires up to 25 gal per min. 1 and 1/2 inch plumbing installed. Slide is 8 ft tall. Anyone else have a second pump for a slide. Even with a variable speed pool pump the return valves need to be choked. Also didn’t know if a pump drawing from the return line would effect the main pump operation or cause ill effects.
