So whilst carefully monitoring my CYA level, I added another puck to the pool this evening to try and get the cya up a bit.

I decided to check the ingredients of the puck. I was a bit surprised to see copper sulphate listed next to cya.

I promptly removed that puck and replaced it with one from another box saying cya only.

So my question is, Are pucks that list cya only an ok way to raise cYA?

The copper one was probably Clorox “xtra” blue. You now know what the extra is.

Don’t use any pool chemical that has blue or blu in its name or description. Blue is a code word for copper.
