Preliminary numbers

I caved. I opened a corner of the pool and dropped in the robot to start clearing worms and dirt.
I also stuck my arm in, up to my shoulder, in 54* water to get a water sample.

First run of numbers without any equipment running:
FC: 1.5
CC: .5
pH: 7.2
TA: 70
CH: 60
CYA: 30 (possibly less than 30. Either way, I'll need more)

Not too shabby. There is some algae growing in and around the skimmer so I'll get some bleach out and scrub that down later.

Your water chemistry is not reliable until the pump has been running and water circulating for at least 24 hours.

+1. I played with mine a few weeks ago when draining. I used 1 inch PVC to take a bottom sample. If memory serves it went like this :

Top. 0 FC. 0 salt
2 ft down. 2 FC. 1200 salt
7.5ft down. 6FC. 3000 salt.

The FC / PH / TA should mix quick once the pump runs. Salt / CYA and CH could take a day.
