Pool wall repair.

I live in Minnesota. Water got down the outside of the skimmer and the skimmer cracked, leaked and the wall panel rusted and water got behind the panel.
The lower part of two panels collapsed outward, away from the poo. I need to replace the skimmer and check the water lines. Do I need to replace the panels or can I add sheet metal over the crumbled parts?

This is a case where a picture will be worth 1000 words. It really depends on many factors. I know what my gut says but am hoping it is wrong. (Replacement)

Agreed. Pictures of the issue and I'm sure it can be diagnosed and a scope outlined.

Pictures help. You can add a sheet over the existing panel. Make it large enough that it's supported well. I would guess if you tried to replace the panel would find the structure rusted as well and probably a challenge to get the old out and the new in and align well.
