My gears are moving. I can manually switch on and off but the time is off. I’ve updated the time but it keeps falling behind. Do I need to replace the guts? It was just replaced a little over a year ago
There is no easy fix. You can try and analyze the gears and the motor and figure out where it is losing time. The motor is replaceable if you are a tinkerer. At the end you are not likely to get a lasting fix.

I replaced mine with a wifi-capable electronic timer.
Gives me way more granularity, and cost less than the guts of the old mechanical version.
No moving parts
