Pool equipment keeps telling me to “add salt”

My equipment is reading as low salt. Not true. We added salt, and now it’s so salty it’s leaving salt spots on sunglasses and such. It tastes salty. It also keeps saying low chlorine. The strips show chlorine is a-okay. Does it sound like something is wrong with the chlorinator? Perhaps I need to just reset it?

Please tell us what brand and model of SWCG you have.

Do you have a test kit for the salt level?

It is likely the thermistor has failed in your flow switch. You need to get a salt test kit, lower the salt level to the appropriate level for the SWCG, and replace the flow switch.
