Pool clarifier not needing major vacuum to waste

I have the same size pool and sand filter, I can relate to the pool being cloudy. I have learned that back washing a lot can prolong cloudy water,
I put a nylon pantie hose in the pump basket so no so it catches the bigger stuff and then I don't back wash until it is not cloudy.
And don't forget the rinse setting on your valve after you back washed to get every thing out of the plumbing.
