My parents live in S. Florida and are in the process of interviewing pool people to care for their new pool while they are away. One is promoting that he uses "filtered chlorine", "natural stabilizer" and "stabilized salt." Does anyone have any idea what he is talking about? Pool is new inground WetEdge 10,000gallon pool with IC40 and cartridge filter. Thanks!

Sounds like a bunch of snake oil garbage. That's not the one you want to choose.

With an SWG and a fairly small pool, the upkeep on their pool should be fairly minimal. Really, you just want someone who knows enough not to screw it up by using powdered shocks and potions.

Threads like this really make me wonder if there would be a market for TFP-style pool service. You could definitely charge less than the potion-slingers ... but then you'd have to make it up in volume. And OCLT testing, when needed, would have to be done at times inconvenient to the homeowner.
