Hello, new here! I have been lurking for a few weeks and so far i have been able to find all the info i need for my new pool, but now I think i need some help! I am using taylor 2006 testing!
FC is 10.2 (probably closer to 20 cause i added 16oz dichlor before work today)
CC .6
PH 7.7
TA 90
CH 80
CYA 30 (should be closer to 40-i only added 48 hours ago)
Iron .2ppm
Copper .3ppm
Our pool came with the house a year ago but had a bad liner, I finally got a new one and with fill water weighing in at 800+ for the only company that would even consider coming as rural as i am, and a limited well supply, I had to pump in my pond water for fill.
The pool started out black as can be, but after 5 days SLAM, it's ALMOST perfect. I am passing overnight drop tests with virtually no loss, and cc seems stuck at .6
Is this just mustard algae needing harder attacks, I have been using primarily just liquid chlorinator, but added the extra dichlor shock pack to get it much highter than SLAM to kill it.
I have not used any algecide because i already have trace amounts of copper in my pond and don't want to make it worse. I did use 1oz floc to ses if it was pond silt contributing but I'm terrified of using that! There is a brown scum line under the shaded rails, and at first i thought my kids have been throwing sand in becauae i kepy vacuuming what i thought was sand, but i dont think they are. They seemed innocent on questioning lol. Theyre mad they cant swim yet!
Thanks!!
Ps- i didnt purchase hardly any chemicals, there were tons in the house. Most of them seem to be on the bad list and i wont use.
