My Polaris cleaner is making a high pitched sound while running. It is coming from the pressure relief valve. If I close the valve all the way it’s fairly loud. If I loosen the valve it gets quieter, but still is audible . I have read that the valve should be closed all the way. I have taken it apart and rinsed it out. Does it just need to be replaced?

Check the O ring inside the fitting. They will sometimes get out of shape, or break, and then you will get a whistle as well. If it is OK, use a light coating of pool lube to allow it to seal better. Worth a try.
