Polaris 280 - Backup Valve O-Ring

Hi folks,
The little O-ring on the acorn backup valve has disintegrated completely. The backup valve constantly shoots out water. I'd love to replace it but the pool places and Amazon sell the O-rings as a kit.

I'm wondering if anyone has a part number or size recommendation for the little O-ring itself. Is it as simple as taking the valve to Home Depot and trying O-rings out until I find one that fits?

I'd appreciate any help you might send my way.
