You need circulation when adding chemicals. Drain 75%. Refill. Go though the shock process.

If you drain it all, then you need to actually add more CYA and will likely still need to go through the shock process.

I was wondering the dangers of draining 75% of a fiberglass pool.

Good point..multiple smaller drains might be a safer method ... or search for the tarp method
