Plaster in Polaris

I’ve been getting a lot of blue sand which I’m guessing is plaster in the Polaris bag. I do see splotches in spots and a few small white spots. I’m wondering what I can do to stop this and if I’m doing something wrong.

We moved here last august so it’s all still relatively new to us. I believe the pool is about 9 years old.

I’ll attach the photo and this morning my results are:

Fc 40
PH 7.8
TA 80
Cya 50
Ca 390

I added a lot of calcium this year to get it up and also keep adding acid to keep ph low since we have a waterfall and it creeps up.

The calcium is good now but it may not have been kept up all 9 years so you will get some of that and nothing you can do. What concerns me is why you have the FC at 40. With a CYA of 50 the slam level is 20 so it's not safe to swim until the FC drops to 20.

The 4ppm FC is minimum for the CYA of 50 you have and it's what I call skirting with danger when the target is 6-8 ppm FC. Any slip with the FC going unforseen will get you in trouble.

Yeah that was the test in the AM and then I add the suggested amount to get back up to 8
