Pentair superflo vst won't prime

Good evening y'all,

Vacuumed the pool today and now I can't get the pump to prime after cleaning out the basket. I restarted the pump like normal, it starts to do it's thing but it fills up for and does its crazy whirlpool thing for a second and then empties and continues to repeat this cycle. the pool's not even a year old yet so I'm doubting its a mecahnical issue. I'm guessing user error. It's probably something simple I'm overlooking, but it got dark so I gave up for today. lol Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks

Start with the easy things. Is the water level halfway up the skimmer opening? Is the skimmer staying full?

Sounds to me like your weir door on your skimmer is stuck up.

Look down into the skimmer basket area and see if the pump sucks all the water out. It should not be able to do that if the weir door is working correctly.

Thanks Jim, that was the problem. I knew it would be something simple. Haha
