Pentair question

Going to be a pretty simple pool no water features or anything like that. Not sure if the automation would really be worth it for me

The automation panel can be customized for simpler type pools that don't need a lot of extra relays. You can call Pentair and they can walk you through the options.

You definitely want an automation panel (even if you don't do any remotes) because otherwise you're stuck with the IC's on-board controls which only allow for 20% increments of output. That's insufficient for good regulation of the chlorine output. Let's say you find that 20% output is too low but 40% output is too high. What then? You're stuck with either going too low or running your SWG harder than you should.

Considering the total cost of a pool build, the extra money spent on a simple automation panel is insignificant.
