The Pebbletec finish in the catch basin of my infinity edge pool has numerous cracks primarily because there is no waterline tile so it experiences numerous wet/dry cycles. I want to add waterline tile and have the Pebbletec repaired/replaced. The Pebbletec in my main pool has no leaks and is overall in decent condition except a few spots are getting rough and I do see a decent amount of pebbles in my pool robot basket. What is the expected life for a Pebbletec finish? My pool is 18 years old and this is the original finish. Should I save money and only have the catch basin re-finished? Is Pebbletec typically chipped out to be refinished? I imagine a full chip out, tile replacement, and re-finish is going to cost $30K to $50K?

Thanks for the advice!

Pebbletec is 20-25 years. If you have no plans to leave that house anytime soon might be good to get some quotes. If you have plans to leave within the next 5 years or so I'd leave it for the next owner.
