Patching Tile Area

I just opened my pool and it looks in need of some patching near the skimmer where some tiles have fallen off. I have a kidney shaped gunite pool with about 22,000 gallons capacity here is a picture. I'm wondering what is the best product to patch it and what tools I'll need. Thank you.

You'll need to let the area dry for a couple days before you can patch it. Thin set mortar to set the tiles (may need to chip some of the old away). Grout to fill between the tiles at least 8 hours after the tiles are set. All can be spread with a trowel, float, or your fingers. A sponge and a towel to remove the excess grout. Let dry at least 24 hours before refilling. I don't like pre-mixed mortar or grout, I haven't had good luck with it. I'm sure others have.
