Overwhelmed! What am I missing?

I apologize upfront if I have missed this, but is there some place that tells me exactly how to use my TFP test kit?

I opened the plastic box yesterday and was so overwhelmed. I have no idea where to even start! My pool is not finished, but I thought I would practice on my tap water.

Don't waste the cya test on your tap water... It won't work anyway since there is none, and you don't get enough to bother practicing.
