Outdoor music setup.

I know this is an older thread but wanted to mention that I recently added the TIC subwoofer to my setup and it makes a huge difference in sound. Running two of the TIC speakers was fine but once I added the matching sub...I was blown away at how much more full it sounds. Anyone looking to do wired speakers that can blend in with landscaping (since these get mostly buried), the TIC speakers are a great cost to quality option. I am very happy with how my setup came together

Here is how I did it for somewhat cheap. I use my phone to control everything.

Receiver was found at a garage sale for $30, subwoofer for $10. Guy didn't know the price of his sub obviously. Seriously, you don't need new or anything fancy for the receiver, I just used it for its amplifier. Just make sure its a clean high quality sound.

Next will be cleaning everything up. I want to move the receiver inside and hide all wiring through ceiling and add a long extended optical wire for an outdoor projector to play through the speakers.

I set it up on dual zone so that the rock speakers are "B". This way when we are out on the lounge chairs we can just use those as background music. Also make sure you mount the speakers no more than 14 feet apart to create a stereo imaging.

Sweet! I just bough the bluetooth receiver you mentioned. That will answer my long term question on what to go with as the main audio source for me! I was looking to spend about $200 for another internet based radio that I can hook up to my receiver but I will gladly pay $27 for this and just run it through my phone. perfect!!!!

Glad it help! I love the thing. Make sure when you decide were to put it that your phone with have direct path to it. I'm able to play music throughout the yard by having it in the patio. You can also always just leave your phone next to it.

What's the range you are getting with the bluetooth receiver? Where I am placing it is about 25-30 feet from where I want to keep it. And do you truly need direct line of site? I have other bluetooth devices that seem to do OK through walls.

It plays fine when I'm in the kitchen with the receiver outside patio, but I wouldn't push it too far. Certain objects affect it worse than others. My BBQ really blocks the path so if I'm behind it the signal gets choppy. The best solution I could think of is to mount it as high as possible in the patio.

I'm able to roam our yard pretty well without losing signal and when it does it comes right back.

Thanks for the heads up. I think I will mount this right inside the back door of my garage that leads out to the pool area. It has a screen during the summer so it will give less interference than the wall. Reviews on Amazon seem to say that 30' won't be an issue so hoping it works.
