Was starting a slam and it said add 23 oz or 2 cups.
I wasn't paying attention and add 16 cups (128 oz) before I realized!
I am hoping that it just knocks the algae out and naturally goes down.
I saw green algae when I brushed.
Any thoughts?

Your chlorine level will drop naturally as the sun hits the pool and it oxidizes the biologicals. You do not need to take any actions to reduce it.

Damage to equipment and liners from high levels of chlorine are usually due to long term high concentrations.

The only warning is not to swim in the pool till you are at or below SLAM levels and you can see the bottom of the pool.
