We recently put in a new salt cell. Is there any reason to hang on to the old salt cell? I vaguely remember reading how you can test your salt cells viability by using an old salt cell but I may have been dreaming!
Save it, you will never know when you will need to remove the current cell and want to keep the pool running.
I always take out my good cell during the winter months and let the pool run with an old worn out cell while I use liquid chlorine during the winter when the water is too cold to operate the cell.
