when i look at the settings under pentair pump i see pump #1 and pump #2 which is odd to me since i only have one pump that has a communication wire but under pump #1 i see

Pump type: VSF
flows/speeds
status

under flows/speed
Pump #1
RPM:1800
Circuit:
[Pool]

i feel like this is something super simple but i can’t figure it out help is appreciated
thanks

A,

For the pump to run, you need to be in Auto, have a speed assigned to the circuit that you want to run (Like Pool = 1800) and that circuit must be on, so you need to have a schedule that is telling the Pool Circuit to run.

Obviously, you must also have the cable connected between your pump and the RS-485 J20 com port.

Note that some new VSF pump were shipped with a bad Firmware load. If this is your case, a Pentair tech will have to come and update the F/W. The bad F/W causes intermittent RS-485 connections, not total loss of connection.

Thanks,

Jim R..
