New Vinyl Pool Owner with High CYA and High Water Table

sounds good. My current numbers are as follows:

FC - 12
TA - 80
CH - 30m
CYA - 30
pH - 7.6

According to the CSI calculation I am currently at a -.6 with a CA of 30 ppm. Is there any harm to me leaving the water soft and not adding calcium chloride? I am assuming this will help in the dissolving process?

Earlier you reported your calcium at 270?

I have not done a deep clean of my filter. It runs at ~5psi and I added a cup of DE to bring it up 1 PSI. I can vacuum to waste but I normally do not.

We bought this house in December and the pool looked great when we walked through the house in Sept. It was closed the previous owner (I am assuming he paid someone, but cant be sure). When we opened it up lat week we found this white film.
