I just had my variable speed pump. I'm trying to figure out the best programing for the pump. I have a CircuPool Smartflow 1.5hp. I guessing average 25 GPM is 2300 RPM. This guess was done by using by Heater. My Hayward needs 25 GPM to function correctly. So I experimented with different RPMs I knew heater turned on with no clicking sounds at 2500 RPM but I wanted to go lower. I tried 2000 RPM LO error from heater. Then 2100, 2200, 2300. 2300 RPM Heater work fine. Tried 2230 Heater turned on but there was clicking sounds from the heater. So I settled with 2300. So I'm thinking of programing pump 10 hours @2300 = 15,000gal ÷25GPM ÷ 60 min=10 hours for 1 turnover. Then @800 RPM for the rest of the remaining time in 24 hour period. Would that be a good way to program the pump or should I just run the pump for 10 hours and turn off.

If you are running the system with a clean filter at bare minimum speed to get the heater to light, it will fail to light as soon as the filter gets a little dirty. You should always add at least 10% more RPM (another 230-250) to keep from having an issue.
