New startup

I want to install my new swg today, but when I opened it it says put salt in 24 hours before installing unit. It is supposed to storm tomorrow. Can I install the unit and put in salt, then wait 24 hours to turn on the unit? It seems like videos I have watched have installed unit, then added salt.

Certainly. Install the unit today and add the salt. Mix the pool well with your brush and run the pump. Just do not power on the SWCG until you test the salinity using your K1766 test kit to ensure it is in the proper range.
Also be sure to test the salinity of the pool water prior to adding salt. It likely already has significant salinity unless this is a fresh water fill.

Your title indicates "start-up". Just also wanted to be sure you were aware you should be waiting 4-6 weeks from fill before you salt the pool.
