New Premier Pool

Thanks! :D

One feature I find that makes it look good is that I used special PVC primer and cement that is made for pool installations. It starts out blue in color (to help make sure you have adequate coverage) but after a few days in the sun, the UV light turns it clear. So the finished product looks clean and tidy.

Ok, I was all sorts of precise about my plumbing on my Intex, and now you go and post these, and I just feel inadequate!!! Very nice setup, I may have to re-do my whole install now after seeing this.

Yes, that's right - threaded on one side, glues to PVC pipe on the other.

Also, from the skimmer to the hard PVC in the ground, I used a short piece of flexible PVC to allow for some flex in the pool walls and skimmer during use. I figured this would be better than rigid PVC all the way to the ground since my hard PVC is buried and has no movement.

Finally, don't forget you need to have a water bonding device somewhere in your plumbing (this is in the NEC). I have an inline water bonder that is tied into the grounding wire that encompasses the entire pool.

Other folks use something like this, but then you have to drill a hole in the skimmer, which I wasn't keen on:

To connect PVC to skimmer you used a 1-1/2" PVC adapter from local hardware store?

That's what I have. But have not put it in yet. I bonded the pool to pump already. Did not have a chance to bond water. Will do this weekend.
Do you have a main drain in your pool? Also how the threaded connector is working? I used one on my skimmer and it looks like it screw in easily all the way in by hand as other connectors (pump, filter and chlorine dispenser) have to be tight in using a lot of force. Hopefully it won't leak. You have replied in my hard plumbing thread where you told me that I do not need to buy the connectors from Hayward.

I don't have a main drain (I'm guessing you mean at the bottom of pool?).

Make sure to use Teflon tape, and don't over tighten. I don't remember it going in too easily, but it does not leak at all. These are all just standard 1.5" threaded PVC so you don't need to order from Hayward for sure.

Hope this helps.
