Awesome pool and patio!!! Question though... why didn't you rotate the Design 180deg so the patio was near your outdoor kitchen? seems like a little jog back to the patio? 
I'm curious how all the travertine is holding up for you now, two years later. Would you care to share your experiences?
4 yrs in and no issues with the travertine at all. I get the occasional weed pop up and there are some instances where I've had to pull up the stone and add some sand below due to ants moving the sand, but all in all it's been great.
Best decision was to go with the travertine, no slippage what so ever and it stays cooler than anything else.
