Gunite installed Saturday. They were at the house at 6:20 to start setting up and the trucks were running by 7:00 am. Sorry, neighbors!

It all depends on the btuh requirement of the burner, but as a rule, firepits require a decent amount of gas to run them any length of time. If all you're looking for is ambience, it doesn't take a lot of gas to get that. However, if you're looking at serious heating it will consume a lot of gas.

We have two fire pits for camping. One is wood and we love it. We also have a propane unit for when wood fires aren't allowed. If I really crank it up I can burn through a 20lb bottle of propane in a few hours.

Thanks for the info. I think I have decided to forego the propane line for the fire pit. I will just go with a wood burning pit. =)

Rock install began last week before rain came and caused more delays. Hopefully they can get back to it today, but we are expecting more rain this week. :(
