New Pool Build - Conroe, TX - LOTS of pics! Come say hi Y'all.

Hi Sunbaby! I hope if you are still on your trip that you are having a blast! This is my first post on here, and I have really enjoyed all of your pictures and the information during each phase of your build. Can't wait to see the finished pool (although I'm sure you REALLY can't wait!) Thank you for sharing it with us all!

Hey Wendy! You should be getting back soon! We've missed you around here, and we're ready for updates.

Did you bring us anything? Huh, huh, huh? Like maybe another week of sunshine! Just think, while you've been gone, your gunite has had more time to cure and is getting stronger and stronger!

Welcome home! Suz.

I'm back! I'm back! I'm BACK! My pool is the same ;) Of course - I had asked that no work be done in my absence so it wasn't unexpected. Cruise went well - seems like the rain followed us out of Texas and into Mexico and the Cayman Islands - which is fine by me.

Spoke with the PB this morning - we are scheduled to frame the decking this week - and send out a crew to do the drainage lines - then the concrete. I am so hoping it ALL gets done this week! I have a July 4th party planned and am starting to get a little worried we won't be ready in time. Which is fine - but I want to cancel in advance - so I don't leave people without plans . . . I am thinking I can make that decision by the end of the week.

Boy do I have a LOT of catching up to do . . . here, work, home . . . sigh. I just wanna hang out with you guys for a while!

WAHOO! A foreman just showed up to look at the site - he is sending over someone to grade the yard this afternoon and prep it for the decking tomorrow morning!

Welcome Back, Wendy! I'm so glad you had a nice cruise despite the rain. That's super that your PB is already on top of things! A deck - that's exciting! It sounds like to me you have a shot at making your party. We'll keep our fingers crossed! Again, welcome home! Suz.

They came out and leveled all the dirt. Said tomorrow they will frame & do rebar. Then concrete a day or so later. :D

I have to share a funny. We have had a temporary fence up around our back patio & the side of the yard so my dogs can use the doggy door without being in the way. So today we had to take it down so they could access the yard to level it. When the crew left today, we decided to let the dogs out into the yard, for the first time since we began.

Well, Bella, our 6 lb fearless min pin ran and dove straight into the middle of the pool a 5' drop into maybe a foot of the nastiest water you've ever seen.

I guess she wanted to be the first to swim, dive & get grounded for diving. Honestly I'm just glad she's ok. She was punished with a bath & now she's mad at ME.

That's hilarious! Poor baby..... Thank goodness she is ok. I hope she learned her lesson, do you think? Yes, it looks like she's all snuggled with Dad as if he's the only one who loves her! But she'll get over her pout. Moms often get the blame for such things as baths, etc.

Is Zoe still doing well from her surgery and infection? Suz.

She is still pouting but I am used to it - I am ALWAYS the bad guy - UNTIL it is time to go to sleep - then they all want to pile up on me. Zoe is doing great! finally out of the cone of shame! My little boy, Ringo has been really stressed out - he is super sensitive to changes and he has decided he wants to stay in his kennel and refuse to eat. So he and I are spending quality time each evening - just he and I on a walk through the neighborhood. He will eat when he gets hungry enough . . . but I hate that he is so stressed out.

Yeah Patrick, I am not sure we will make it for the 4th. I had really thought we would - but all the rain, coupled with me gone for 2 weeks, really put a pause in our progress. The crews are here framing and doing rebar this morning. They will also get the deck drains and drainage pipes done. Hopefully no rain and we can pour the decking later this week!

They also told me to go ahead and have the propane tank installed - so that will be going in this week as well.

Lots of things happening around here!

So - PB just stopped by. He said everything looks great - they are doing drains now - and will also finish the rebar today. BUT he said they have been sitting and waiting on concrete at all the jobs today - that everything around here was put on hold for the rains and now that it is clear - all the big jobs (like buildings and such) are getting priority for the concrete. He said we are on the schedule for this week - BUT he said he has 3 crews he is paying today that have done nothing but sit and wait on trucks that haven't come. He said they get a call that they will have XXX much concrete allocated to them - and they send it to the first job, second and so on. So they are going to get us up to the point we are just waiting on the concrete - so that they can just show up if they get the call. He said PT is also very back-upped because they weren't able to install during the rains in the past month - so there are a lot of pools behind - but he said we have been on the schedule - apparently he had us on the schedule during the storms - so that we might get priority soon :)

I told him I was prepared for his answer no matter what - but asked what he thought about being able to have a July 4th swimming party. He said he thought I had a 75% chance of it happening.

Sigh. I guess I will wait till Monday to see where we are on the pool before making the call . . .

I would stay on him. I had concrete poured on Friday and have my Wet Edge scheduled for tomorrow. I sent them a PO on 5/29 for the Wet Edge and I have the crew here about to start cleaning my pool. We are supposed to install tomorrow and acid wash on Thursday (when we start filling).

Seems like you have plenty of time to have water in your pool - although you might need some time to get your chemicals right... And no hot tub.

I have my PB on speed dial :) - well he is on my texting favorites :) He knows how excited we are AND he has been wonderful so far - so I am hoping for the best. (and staying on him)

I never considered WetEdge. My friends with pools all had PT - so I kinda just jumped on the PT bandwagon. Hopefully the PT won't delay me!

I have told myself from the beginning that I would not be upset if I had to cxl this party. So - I am "saying" I am NOT upset. (but in a really whinny voice) :)

I had to find a bright spot. If the pool isn't ready, we will go to my hometown, watch the parade & see tons of family & friends we rarely see.

See, I'm trying!
