New build Long Island

Haven't even take a first dip yet, was to cold and late last night by the time I finished installing all the required safety stuff. Final inspection today! Too cold to even lounge in it waiting for him between 8am and 4 pm.... At least the cable guys give u a 3 hour window! Anyway, installed 2 pool guard alarms and an espio water alarm. Used Velcro ties to make it look somewhat neat. Also used Velcro doublesided tape for interior applications.ImageUploadedByTapatalk1375884692.205786.jpg[/attachment:33bsulze]ImageUploadedByTapatalk1375884733.621245.jpg[/attachment:33bsulze]ImageUploadedByTapatalk1375884808.824388.jpg[/attachment:33bsulze]

A little hint for long islanders, call national grid way in advance for meter upgrade. Due to sandy everyone is getting meter upgraded for natural gas generators so they are swamped... I've been calling for 3 days straight with multiple messages and got 2 callbacks saying they need to Get in touch with the bellmore yard for 800k btu meters and above .= Cold pool for me ; (

More tips..... Town inspector came, angry over fact builder never told them when day of pour was, wanted to see rebar in forms before pour. Luckily I had lots of pictures. He was happy with that and signed off on structure of pool. He now wants to complete final inspection when masonry is complete. Multiple sources, including builder, said final inspection is complete once pool is built. Not so in my town, they want all landscaping and masonry complete before giving final c/o. More money to the town.... Thank you TOB.

Just to remind out of Towners, locals here pay upwards of 12k in property taxes on 60x100 properties and pay hundreds in fees for permits so they can raise our property taxes. I've already paid $1,050 in fees just for permit filing. Thanks for letting me rant!!
