New Build in Maryland

So... my deck forms part of my barrier to the pool so I ended up making a custom rail to meet the BOCA code. I had the fence company send me 43" pickets that I mounted into my rail. I cut a dado into each rail and then made a couple hundred spacers to fill the gaps and ensure even spacing. Here's a few pics of it. It's not quite done - ran a few short on pickets, need to trim the posts, and put the cap on.

Fence is started...

I mail ordered it from iFenceUSA and have to say their quality is excellent. The aluminum thickness is better than the stuff from our local big box store, for less money. The paint is great and delivery only took a couple of weeks.

The fence is looking very nice. How did you like using that 2-man post hole digger? It was a bear for me since I'm not that tall. I'm no fortuneteller but I see lots of clear water and a tall frosty glass in your very near future! Have you decided on your pool surface material yet?

How much is the fence per linear ft

Hard to put it to an exact $/foot. Here's the breakdown. The fence is their "Boca Grande" style which has the double upper rails in Green color. I purchased 100' of fence, two arched 48" gates, one 8' arched double gate, one custom 60" panel, and 125 custom pickets/rails for the deck. All hardware including the hinges and magnalatches... came out to about $3200 including shipping to Maryland. The custom stuff added a bit to the cost.

The 2-man post hole digger worked great. Rented from Rentals Unlimited for $50/day (pick it up after 4pm Saturday and return Monday before 9am counts as 1 day :) ) - money well spent! 90% of the holes went quick, but when we hit the shale it would just spin. Had to break out the breaker bar for that. I'm also a short guy and it was no problem whatsoever... It's pretty heavy though so you need to be in decent shape to heft it around.

The key to the fence install is only drill one hole ahead. It's a three person job. Two people drill, one person sets the new post and panel, pour in a bag of the quick setting concrete and fill with water. Get the post plumb and move to the next one. The quick setting concrete sets up so fast you don't even need to brace unless it's an end post for a gate. It goes quick.
