That would requre more work to remove one witout nicking the next, and then I couldn't match the grout color.
I've found some engineered cork (laminate, but with a thin sheet of real wood/cork on top) which is thin enough to install over the tile without interfering with the door opening.
That takes care of the entry, the kitchen/dining/family stuff can sit - I'll probably just use leveling compound to get a smooth surface over the tile, then go with a vinyl for the rest.
Fixers are fun.
