Hello, I have a 18x36 in ground pool with a deep en. I think it’s around 26-27K gallons. I’m getting a little sand in the pool after backwashing and believe I may have a break in my old System 3 S8S70 sand filter. Looks like it’s cheaper to buy a new sand filter as opposed to buying the replacement laterals and center tube.
im looking at the Hayward W3S220T, would this be okay for my pool? It says it holds 250pounds of sand. Thanks for your help

For a pool of that size, the Hayward is fine.

I will say, the system 3 is a TANK (built well). I would seriously consider rebuilding the system 3. The clamshell design is easier to service than the hayward. You will also have to replumb to the Hayward.

TANK REBUILD DAY!!!! NICE!!! The Sta-rites really are a good filter...I don't think you made a wrong choice.
