We recently remodeled our 80s pool. Threw away the old skimmer basket or lid (photo attached). Is anyone able to identify our skimmer, so we can get a weir flap for it? The opening is about 8 inches by 6 inches. There are two male hinge pins. Will any generic 8 inch weir flap work too? Thanks!

That is a U3 skimmer, but you would be better off getting the 8" spring-loaded weir as opposed to the 8 3/8" that usually is installed. It is less likely to get jammed and works just as well. Many times, on a pool that age, the skimmer throat is no longer square, but slightly mis-shappen and the "proper" size causes problems.
