Natural pool enzyme for pollen

Do not use enzymes. They are basically snake oil and will not make any difference in your pool. Pollen is a solid substance. There’s nothing enzymes will do to affect it. Just scoop and filter and maintain the proper FC level … that’s all you can do.

I started with about 160 oaks on an acre and dropped half of them over 15 years before giving up and moving. It never appreciably affected my FC, even when the long flower string snots covered in pollen stuffed both skimmers several times a day.

No fresh debris for that matter, even dead / brown leaves in the fall. We had several named storms that turned the pool into more of a tea with various colored leaves and it was never an issue.

It has to be old and decaying, such as the crud that blows under the cover over the winter and has months to fester.

Use hairnets or skimmer socks to catch the pollen in the skimmer basket instead of the filter.
You can get poly-spun hairnets on Amazon for around $10 per 100. Change out and toss in trash as needed.
