We were new to pools about 3 years ago. After putting in a fibreglass 50000l (about 15000 gal) naked system pool we are now little more experienced.
Being in Cairns Australia over the Christmas season our pool gets up to about 38C (100F). Air temps about 32C (90F) and high humidity, so the 'feels like' temp is around 38 (100)
I've just made an evaporative water cooler to drop the temp. Thanks to duraleigh for the idea. Took about 30 min to make the test system.
Yesterday started out at 36.3, 12 hours later it was at 30.3C. so it worked well. The only problem was that with the filter ready for a change and reduced flow through the pool the cell wasn't getting enough flow.
Moved the coolers to the spa and let the pool jets run full, changed the filter and all is good now.

The link above explains it all, but basically
It's a system that uses copper and silver instead of a chlorinator. Has very little salt in the pool and feels like you are swimming in fresh water. No chlorine smell either. Usual chemicals I use are about 500ml of acid every 2 weeks (summer). and sodium bi carb (pH buffer) as required. We live with our son and his wife and four kids, but if we didn't it would probably be a totally naked system.
