My first week-long trip after starting TFP...

... and I'm happy to report that my pool is almost exactly as I left it ☺ save for high pH (8.2) which is expected since nobody was adding acid for a week.

I guess I can't say I really expected anything different, but it's so nice to be able to go away without worrying about coming home to a green algae mess like we used to, especially in the summer when it's so hot. TFP rules!

Great! As our elevated water temperatures tend to consume more CYA than most areas, when I leave for a week or two during the summer, I float some trichlor pucks in a dispenser. Adds some acid to keep the pH in check, adds some CYA which we lose naturally during the summer, and boosts the FC if a flock of birds or something else hits the pool water while we are gone.
