Opened my pool here in NY last week. Water was clean, no algae. Just yesterday I started seeing mosquitoes flying just along the top of the water. There's a ton of them. I have never seen this. Any ideas? All my chlorine levels are fine. Not sure what's up.

When you say chlorine levels are "fine", what does that mean?

Can you please provide us with a full set of test results?

How does the pool look today? And are you sure they're mosquitos and not water bugs?

I'm on Long Island and I get these buggers hovering over the water in my pool as well. They seem to like the floating pollen and small leaves for some reason. I believe they are mosquitos, but a more puffy type (almost like black drain flies). They tend to go away by the end of May in my experience.

Sounds like no see em gnats. We get swarms in IL this time of year. I'm waiting for my first spray any day from Mosquitioe Joe which usually takes care of the situation.
