Mastic in concrete expansion joints?

We have a freshly poured concrete patio and Sundek overlay with expansion joints cut into it. Water and debris fills the expansion joints. Is it ok to fill with Sika self-leveling compound and sprinkle with filter sand. Sika is flexible enough to not impede the expansion joint right?

You have the right idea but perhaps there are better products. I would contact a masonry company and see what they suggest.

Any polyurethane caulk would likely work and I have had some struggles with the self leveling stuff having a mind of it's own.
