Hey melt or anyone for that matter, what kind of wire is that being used for direct bury? Reason I ask is I spent several hours tilling my yard to plant some new seed and I pulled up a 6" piece identical to that one in your pic. I have not checked the outlets in the yard yet so dont know where it came from since I did not find any other end. I was under the impression that any electrical had to be in conduit.

UF is 120 volt wire approved for direct burial although it is supposed to be 18" deep.
12 volt wire can also be direct burial for landscape lighting.
I can not tell from the pic which that is.

Thanks for the info. I have couple outlet boxes in my yard that are wired with that wire. Was hoping to plug in my landscape lighting box into one of them when I set it all up
