Low CYA

Hi there-

long time no post. i don't think I've been on here since COVID! Thinks have been great, except chlorine now costs $4.50 a gallon!

I have low CYA. with the TF test, when i fill the tube, can still clearly see the dot. I have added some pucks in the floater to get some stabilizer in, but thinking that won't be quixck enough.

What kind goes in the sock that i hear about? And how much i need to get to 40ppm?

Dry/granular stabilizer sometimes called conditioner

Use PoolMath to calculate amounts

Use PoolMath for how much to add. Get to 50 ppm for your area.

Put it in a sock , tie a knot in it & hang it in front of a return in a way that it won’t touch the pool wall.
Squeeze the sock every now & then - it will get squishy.
