Loose flagstone coping

I'm looking to repair a dozen or so loose coping flagstones around my pool. Remove the loose ones, chip out the mortar and re mortar? What mortar should I use? Or I've seen someone suggesting using a landscape stone adhesive. Thanks in advance!

I have always liked the middle grade of thinset by Custom Building Products at Home depot. (I think it's called Versabond) You aren't going to use much so you could get the premium grade if you like. I would also suggest you get it in white to avoid any "see-through" if your grout color is light.

Since you live in Houston, you could just glue it back in place since it won't freeze but I have never done so so cannot comment on it long term durability.
