I have an inground with pool skim and skimmer and a huge maple overhead and a whoe raised terrace of overhanging Japanese aple, rose of Sharon etc
Both work really well considering the volume of debris.
All of our returns are pointed counter clockwise and debis typically makes a circular route to get to either, which are on opposite sides.
In your video, it looks to me as if the jet below (eg south) of the pool skim it pointed clockwise, while the PoolSkim is configured to draw in most naturally counterclockwise.
I wonder if changing your jet direction around the entire pool would create something of a "mega" Venturi effect, helping to draw debris into each? Just a guess.
I think I got it figured out.. One of the fittings wasn't air tight so water was coming strong out of that and pushing the debris away from the poolskim..
I have to test again (stormed last night) but I think that was it..
